Status Control

Última actualización:

Status Control is the screen for changing what residents see, fast. Admins and Staff can use it, and it is the only screen a Status Controller needs. Every change is recorded with who made it and when.

Open Status Control

  1. Sign in.
  2. Open Status Control. If you act for more than one organization, choose the one to act for.
  3. The page shows the public status now, for each kind of burning, and everything in force or scheduled.

If an action is greyed out, your role does not include it. Ask an administrator of your organization.

Close burning

  1. Choose Close burning.
  2. Where: choose zones, or All zones. All zones also closes the zones of every organization under yours.
  3. Which kind of burning: one kind, or all kinds.
  4. For how long: 1 hour, 4 hours, until midnight tonight, until midnight tomorrow night, 24 hours, until further notice, or until a time you choose. Times are your agency's local time.
  5. Add a message for residents if you like (up to 160 characters). It shows on the status page and badges.
  6. Choose Close burning now.

Residents see the closure at once on the status page and in the app. Badges on websites update within a minute.

Reopen burning

Under In force and scheduled, choose Cancel closure next to the closure and confirm. Burning may become allowed again where it applied, unless another agency still closes it. You cannot cancel another agency's closure: if a regional or state agency closed burning, only it can reopen.

Post an open advisory or a notice

Use Post an open advisory for a message while burning is open, for example "Burn only in the morning". Use Post a notice for information, a warning or a closure notice. A notice is a message: it never changes whether burning is allowed, except a closure.

Schedule a closure or opening

Choose Schedule a closure or opening, pick when it starts and, optionally, ends. Opening burning asks you to confirm, because residents will see burning as allowed in those zones for that time, unless another authority closes it.

Temporary restriction

Choose Put a temporary restriction in place to stop burning with a short explanation, for example during a local event. End it from the list with End restriction.

What residents see

The outcome, your agency as the reason ("Closed by …"), your message, and the time. If you post nothing, residents see your zone's normal status from its seasons.
